Throughout the month of March, Waynesburg University’s Pathways Center team hosted Resume Madness, a competitive bracket-style event where students’ resumes were compared head-to-head until a winner was determined.

The purpose of this event was to provide students with resume feedback in a fun and interactive way while demonstrating to students how the job search process can work – at the end of the day, only one person is selected for the job.
In total, four brackets were included in the event, as the Pathways Center partnered with instructors in three courses in addition to hosting a general bracket for students who signed up to participate independently. The participating courses were Research Methods instructed by Dr. Tracy Dohn Cummins; Vertebrate Zoology instructed by Dr. Christian Hayes; and Leadership in Professional Nursing Practice instructed by Professor Leslye Onofrey.
Of the 37 student resumes reviewed during this event, four were selected as the contest winners:
- Thomas Burke, Junior Biomedical Science Major
- Hailey Crusenberry, Junior Pharmaceutical Science Major
- Alison Landon, Junior Environmental Science Major
- Vanessa Porter, Senior Nursing Major
Each student, including winners, received resume feedback as a part of this program. In addition, winners each received a $20 RGB gift card.
