Students enrolled in the Department of Humanities take courses with faculty who have expertise in many varied fields. It is home to many of our programs that are part of the traditional liberal arts curriculum. The department houses our psychology, history, and biblical ministry courses.

As a student in the Department of Humanities, you'll learn the major concepts, theoretical perspectives, empirical findings, and historical trends in your particular field of study.

Biblical and Ministry Studies

You'll learn to exercise leadership in a variety of settings including congregations, college campuses, agencies, and more. We offer concentrations in Children and Youth Ministries, Christian Mission, Media Ministry & Religion and Philosophy.

Through studying history and historical methods, students can obtain a greater appreciation of human cultural, political, and historical diversity. We offer concentrations in History & Public and Applied History.

Psychology

As a Psychology major, you'll learn the theoretical perspectives and methodological skills needed to understand human behavior. You'll be prepared for graduate work or related career fields not requiring a graduate degree.

Secondary Education (7-12): Social Studies

You'll gain the knowledge, professional teaching style, and leadership techniques necessary to be a successful social studies teacher for secondary level students in grades 7 through 12.
