Nursing BSN for 2nd Degree
Make the successful transition to a nursing career in our regionally renowned program.
This track within the BSN program is tailored specifically for students who feel a new calling to serve in a healthcare setting, even if their previous studies were in a different field.
Students with a degree from an accredited college or university may be eligible to enroll in our undergraduate nursing program to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, gaining the clinical practice and academic background necessary for success.
Degree requirements can be completed in approximately one year (three semesters) with courses being offered in an 8-week format. The track format delivers course materials online with in-person campus lab, and clinical disbursed throughout the semesters. Campus labs and clinicals take place on Saturdays and Sundays.
What Sets Us Apart
Get experience early
Clinical practice begins early in the program as you experience complex patient care in simulated situations to learn and apply cognitive, psychomotor, and decision-making skills. Our simulation lab offers eight patient simulation rooms with varied simulators that prepare future nurses for real-world scenarios in a range of healthcare field and industry positions.
Focus on your success
The 2nd Degree track weaves computerized assessment technology throughout each semester as well as an RN NCLEX Review Course to help achieve student success. In the Student Nurses’ Association of Pennsylvania (SNAP) and Nu Sigma WU’s chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, the international nursing honorary, you’ll develop leadership skills that you can take to the multiple job and career planning fairs we connect you to.
One-on-one faculty attention
Full-time experienced nursing faculty, not teaching assistants, will advise you and lead classes that are small and attuned to your personal learning style. We place an emphasis on clinical practice, including in courses for pediatric, maternity, and psychiatric nursing.
Establish high academic standards
Adherence to high academic standards promotes strong program outcomes. Application of theoretical concepts of evidence-based practice foster critical thinking and development of problem-solving skills.
