The Waynesburg University Department of Business Administration held an induction ceremony on March 31 to welcome new members of the Sigma Beta Delta honor society and recognize students receiving academic department honors.

Sigma Beta Delta is an honor society that strives to recognize scholarship and celebrate the achievements of students in collegiate business programs. The society’s mission is to promote personal and professional growth in students committed to honorably serving their community.

“Membership in Sigma Beta Delta is the highest national recognition a business student can receive at a college or university with a Sigma Beta Delta chapter,” explained Pamela Cunningham, instructor of marketing at Waynesburg University.

To be eligible for membership, business students must be within the top 20 percent of their junior, senior or graduate class, and must be invited by a faculty officer.

The ceremony also honored outstanding students receiving department honors. Selected students reflected the highest GPAs within their respected majors.
