Waynesburg University’s Symphonic Band is set to perform a concert on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 5:15 p.m. in the Marsh Center. This performance is one of two concerts the Symphonic Band performs during the semester.
The concert is free and open to the public.
This year, the Symphonic Band will perform selections from video games and anime. Some of the featured pieces will be from “Halo,” “Kingdom Hearts,” “World of Warcraft” and “My Neighbor Totoro.”
“We prioritize making good music and having a good time doing it. We want our students to learn how to be good musicians and how to present different styles of music to the public,” Eric Brewer, director of the Music Program, said. “It’ll be lots of fun, and the band is excited to perform.”

The Symphonic Band meets twice a week during the semester and performs at least four concerts each academic year. The band is comprised of music majors and students from other academic disciplines on Waynesburg University's campus. Students learn standard band music as well as popular music from American culture.
