Matthew Stultz Aug 1, 2019

Waynesburg University’s RN to BSN Program was recently recognized as a “Top Ranked Online RN to BSN Program” in the state of Pennsylvania, being ranked No. 2.

“We’re proud to be recognized among the top RN to BSN programs in the state,” said Dr. Lina Hixson, director of the RN to BSN Program and assistant professor of nursing. “This ranking is a credit to our faculty and the expertise they bring to our students, our online course designers who build the online format and the administration who saw the need to move our program to a 100% delivery method.”

The success of a program has many moving parts that collectively work together to foster student success. Our faculty, course designers and administration do just that, enabling our students to receive a quality and valuable experience.”

Programs were analyzed and ranked according to the following criteria: program accreditation, online offerings, number and variety of nursing programs, ratio of total nursing program completions versus total program completions, annual tuition, ratio of tenured faculty, and university/college acceptance and graduation rates.

The ranking organization collected data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Postsecondary Education (OPE) and The Council for Community and Economic Research.

“The success of a program has many moving parts that collectively work together to foster student success,” added Hixson. “Our faculty, course designers and administration do just that, enabling our students to receive a quality and valuable experience.”

Waynesburg’s RN to BSN Program is a 33 to 39-credit program that can be completed in just 12 to 16 months as a full-time student; the option to attend part time also exists. Courses are available online or in person.

The Nursing Program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE, One Dupont Circle, NW, Suite 530, Washington, DC 20036, 202-887-6791).

RegisteredNursing.org and RNCareers.org have both recently ranked Waynesburg Universty’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program No. 2 in the state of Pennsylvania.
