You may contact the CTC for more information using this link: Counseling Inquiry Form.
A CTC staff member will reach out to you for an initial intake that is usually completed within a week.
During this intake, you will be asked to provide some basic information about yourself, after which you will be able to begin our intake process. The intake process involves a 20-30 minute phone screening to help us evaluate your needs, followed by an hour-long intake with a Waynesburg University student counselor. The intake process is typically finished within two weeks of your first contact with the CTC.
What to Expect in Your Intake:
During your initial intake, your counselor will gather information about you, your problems and your history, and will be able to answer your questions regarding services, fees, confidentiality and what to expect in therapy. You will also be asked to review and sign several forms describing important office policies such as handling of emergencies, protection and use of confidential information and limits to confidentiality as well as a "Notice of Privacy Policies" which tells you about how your information can be used.
We are interested in developing a collaborative relationship with you in which we try to decide together what kind of treatment would be best for you. However, not everyone will be referred for continuing counseling at the clinic. We make decisions on what we believe will be best for you.
What do I need to have to join an online appointment?
You will need a video camera/webcam, microphone and headphones (recommended). You will also need a device (e.g., laptop, tablet, smartphone) capable of joining the online meeting (Zoom). We recommend a stable, secure internet connection (e.g., password protected, private Wi-Fi instead of publicly available connections) and a private space (e.g., bedroom, home office) for telehealth appointments.
