How can I contact the CTC?
The Counseling Inquiry Form is the best way for prospective clients to submit their interest in services. Once the form is submitted, someone from the CTC will call to screen you for eligibility.
If you have a general question about the CTC and are not ready to fill out an inquiry at this time, you can also call the clinic at 724-743-4424 to leave a voicemail. This is a voicemail-only line, but someone is in the office three days a week responding to messages and inquiries.
I am calling to refer a client who is not me—how do I do this?
If you are the parent/legal guardian of a child older than 18 or another referring individual, we can provide you with our contact information and descriptions of the services we provide. You can then pass that information along to the client, and the client can call us as they wish.
Do you prescribe medication?
No. The clinic is not a medical facility. If you or your child are a candidate for medication, you will need to work through a medical doctor, such as a pediatrician, family physician or psychiatrist.
Does the CTC accept health insurance?
At this time, the CTC provides all services free of charge. Part of our mission and focus is on providing quality counseling services to uninsured or underinsured individuals, as well as those who have limited access to clinical mental health services due to living in rural or medically underserved areas. For these reasons, health insurance is not accepted and not needed to receive CTC services.
How are practicum and internship students supervised?
All of our Counseling Interns and Practicum students assigned to the CTC are directly supervised by an on-site Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Although the CTC only offers virtual counseling appointments, the Interns and Practicum students are required to be at a Waynesburg University training facility whenever they are engaged in counseling activities with CTC clients. If there is a question or concern that the Intern or Practicum counselor might have during a session, they have access to a LPC to assist them in resolving the issue.
Additionally, our Interns and Practicum students receive one-hour of individualized clinical supervision by a licensed mental health professional each week and a minimum of 1 ½ hours of group supervision weekly.
