Mission and Service Trips

Spend your college breaks in service to the greater good.

We see service as more than long hours, sweat, or sacrifice. It’s how we show love all around the world.

During spring, summer, fall and winter breaks, you can participate in one of our many immersion trips, guided by experienced Waynesburg University faculty and staff. It’s your chance to help underserved communities while earning course credit. These trips apply to a range of academic concentrations or interests and provide incredible work experiences that will nourish you for a lifetime.

Faith, Learning and Service Immersion Trips 

All trips can be used for the Service Learning course requirement. Register for an SLR course in the fall, spring or summer terms.

Fall Break 
Examples of mission and service trips taken during the fall semester include:

  • Globalization, Immigration, and Community Development
    Louisville, Kentucky
  • Greene County Immersion
    Greene County, Pennsylvania
  • Habitat for Humanity
    Greene County, Pennsylvania
  • Gettysburg National Military Park
    Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
  • The Philadelphia Project
    Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Winter Break

Examples of mission and service trips taken during the winter semester include:

  • A Rocha Marine Conservation
    Titusville, Florida

Spring Break

Examples of mission and service trips taken during the spring semester include:

  • Habitat for Humanity
    Concord, North Carolina
  • Gettysburg National Military Park
    Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
  • Praying Pelican Missions (nursing students only)
    Nassau, Bahamas
  • Project GROW
    Hato Mayor Del Rey, Dominican Republic

Summer Break

Examples of mission and service trips taken during the summer semester include:

  • The Lamplighers Touring Choir
    Various locations
