Paula Sexton

Assistant Professor of Nursing

Biography

Dr. Paula Sexton teaches across the nursing curriculum.  She has been recognized with the Celebrating Excellence Recognition Award from the West Virginia Center of Nursing Excellence.

Dr. Sexton maintains a nursing certification in the operating room (CNOR) from the Certification Competency & Credentialing Institute. She completed her DNP capstone in August 2021, focusing on Improving PACU Transfers Using An Electronic Dashboard: A Quality Improvement Initiative. The project is currently being published in the Journal of Perianesthesia Nursing (JOPAN).

She enjoys crafting and spending time with her family.

As a fun fact, she and one of her sons both successfully earned their doctorates in 2022.
