Biography
Assistant Professor of Communication at Waynesburg University since 2009, Lanny Frattare teaches sports announcing and business and professional speaking. The Pittsburgh Pirates play by play announcer for 33 years (1976-2008), Lanny is celebrating his 50th year in broadcasting. His career began in 1968 at WGVA in Geneva, New York, and he has been a disc jockey and sports director, has called play by play of Ohio State basketball, Penn State football, West Virginia basketball and baseball, high school baseball in Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia, high school football and basketball in Western Pennsylvania and the Pony League World Series. The father of two and grandfather of two, in 2018 he hosted the 32nd annual Family Links Golf Classic, raising over three million dollars.
