This is a critical time for higher education. AICUP is doing important work, and it will be a privilege to help move that important work forward."
Waynesburg University President Douglas G. Lee was recently elected secretary/treasurer of the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Pennsylvania’s (AICUP) Board of Directors at the Annual AICUP Presidents Meeting in Hershey.
“This is a critical time for higher education. AICUP is doing important work, and it will be a privilege to help move that important work forward,” said President Lee, who will begin his term July 1, 2023.
AICUP is the only statewide organization that serves independent, nonprofit higher education within the Commonwealth and exists to complement and support the work of campus leaders. AICUP was established in October 1995 through the affiliation of three existing educational organizations.
The AICUP Board of Directors is comprised of presidents from member institutions across the state. President Lee previously served as Chair of AICUP’s Members Services Committee for two years, from July 2020 through June 2022. In August, he was appointed to the NCAA Division III President’s Council. He has also served as the Chair of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Presidents' Council.
