Waynesburg University's official motto is "Fiat Lux" or "Let There Be Light." Thanks to a generous gift from Mr. Scott Bechtle (Class of 1973) and his family, the Waynesburg University men's and women's tennis programs will be closer to that motto than ever before.
This past Saturday, members of the Bechtle family were present at the Waynesburg University tennis courts, which are located just to the west of campus, to celebrate the official unveiling of the facility's new lights. The upgrade will not only vastly increase the teams' practice and match opportunities, but also allow for greater community interaction in the form of leagues, camps, etc.
In recognition of the gift, the facility has officially been renamed the Bechtle Family Tennis Facility, a proclamation that was commemorated with a bronze plaque.
