Waynesburg University’s baccalaureate (BSN) Nursing Program and the RN to BSN Program have both been recognized in the top 10 of similar programs in the state of Pennsylvania by RegisteredNursing.org.
Placing in the top 10% statewide, the BSN Program was ranked at No. 8 out of the 78 schools analyzed. The BSN Program has now been ranked a top nursing school in the state for the past four consecutive years.
The RN to BSN Program, ranked at No. 5, has been a top 5 online program in Pennsylvania for two consecutive years.
“I am very proud of the ongoing recognition by RegisteredNursing.org, and I commend the hard work of both faculty and students in maintaining and embracing [our] rigorous program standards,” said Dr. Kathy Stolfer, professor of nursing. “We strive to respond to the timely challenges of the healthcare system through preparation of caring, safe and competent nurses, equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities for their professional roles.”
The undergraduate nursing programs were evaluated on several factors, including how well a program supports students toward licensure and beyond, as well as current and historical pass rates on the National Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
Online RN to BSN programs were analyzed and ranked according to the following criteria: program accreditation, online offerings, number and variety of nursing programs, ratio of total nursing program completions versus total program completions, annual tuition, ratio of tenured faculty, and university/college acceptance and graduation rates.
Waynesburg’s Nursing Program has also earned accolades for value, being named a 2020 “Best Value” school by College Factual. Waynesburg was ranked at No. 7 out of the 500 school nursing programs ranked nationwide and No. 2 in the state of Pennsylvania.
The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, the master's degree program in nursing, and the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program at Waynesburg University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K Street NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC, 20001, 202-887-6791.
