The Alumni Office has teamed up with Professional Book Club (PBC) Guru to launch the first Waynesburg Alumni Book Club. The club will be fully online, with no in-person meetings, allowing alumni the opportunity to read and connect, no matter where they live.
The book club is open to all Waynesburg University alumni, faculty and staff members, providing an outlet for lifelong learning. PBC Guru will assign a moderator to pose questions and help guide the discussion on a private, online forum.
"We are excited to offer this virtual gathering to our Waynesburg alumni as a way to connect and engage through reading," said Jena Prokopchuk, Director of Development. "Even those with busy schedules and those who may not live near campus can participate in this online community when they have time. We hope they’ll join us for some fun and thoughtful conversations!"
The group will read one book every two months. The selected books will cover topics including business, wellness and social issues. Book club members will have the chance to vote on the next book to read. Members are required to get a copy of the books to enjoy, but there is no additional cost.
The first book the group will read is the New York Times best seller "The Power of Habit" by Charles Duhigg. The book club is set to launch Sept. 9.
Alumni, faculty and staff interested in learning more about the Waynesburg book club or signing up should visit pcb.guru/waynesburg. The sign-up deadline is Sept. 8.
