Center for Criminal Justice & Forensic Investigation
Equipped with high-tech simulators and superior training tools, Waynesburg University’s new Center for Criminal Justice & Forensic Investigation offers students cutting-edge training to excel in the field.
Students from various academic programs, including criminal justice administration, cybersecurity and forensics, forensic accounting, forensic biology, forensic chemistry, forensic investigation, forensic science and pre-law, benefit from experiential learning opportunities in an immersive training environment, utilizing the most advanced learning simulators available on the market today.
The MILO Range Theater 180 and Pro system training offer interactive Use-of-Force and Crisis Management Training, delivering a realistic, adaptable training environment. In addition to hundreds of high-impact contemporary training scenarios, an extensive library of interactive graphics-based firearm drills and exercises are available.
The L3 Harris driving simulator provides hands-on experiential training, offering experience without risks to people or equipment, allowing students to be exposed to various challenging and hazard-laden scenarios in a controlled environment.
Funded in its entirety by generous donors, the Center features a large space that can accommodate functions of up to 120 people. This space can also be converted into three separate classrooms outfitted with state-of-the-art technology, a conference room and office space.
Community Training
Waynesburg University’s Criminal Justice Program has a history of offering training facilities and opportunities to local and regional first responders, and this Center will enhance those training opportunities while enabling students to learn alongside and network with professionals in the field. Currently, the University serves as a training and recruitment hub for local, regional and national law enforcement, such as the FBI, CIA, ATF, police departments, and probation offices, efforts which will be enhanced by the new physical space.
Additional Facilities
The Center for Criminal Justice and Forensic Investigation is located next to the University’s existing Practical Exercise Lab, which is currently undergoing renovations to include a courtroom, bloodstain pattern interpretation room and fingerprint lab.
