Early Childhood Education (PreK-4) with Special Education Certification (PreK-12)
Prepare yourself to positively impact the lives and minds of students with disabilities.
Grow to understand how students with disabilities learn, and design and implement developmentally appropriate and challenging learning experiences.
The special education certification option for early childhood education majors leads to dual teaching certifications in PreK-4 and Special Education PreK-12. You’ll be prepared to teach students with disabilities in both general education-inclusive and special education settings.
The program emphasizes the knowledge, skills, and competencies required for successful teaching in the 21st century PreK through grade 4 classrooms. Courses focus on research-based, developmentally appropriate instructional practices, and field experiences are integrated with coursework beginning freshman year.
