Learn how to plan events, write strong news releases, network with communications professionals, and run effective social media and advertising campaigns.
You’ll work closely with our award-winning student chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), which can send you to national and regional conferences and assemblies to meet the country’s top public relations professionals.
You’ll complete an internship during your coursework. Recent students have interned with Brunner Communication, the Pittsburgh Pirates, and Pittsburgh Civic Light Orchestra. It’s just one of the many ways this program provides you with professional client work experience to build a portfolio that proves you have the branding knowledge and PR strategies to help an employer’s business succeed.
Gain hands-on, professsional experience
Through PRSSA activities, conferences, and our annual PR week, you'll get an authentic, hands-on experience in public relations. You’ll participate in agency tours, competitions, webinars, service projects, and much more. These events and experiences, coupled with coursework, enable you to build an amazing resume and portfolio to succeed after graduation.

"The courses and co-curricular activities in which I participated gave me a foundation on which to build a successful career. The importance each class and each professor placed on precision in writing has served me well in the many positions I’ve held."
