Michelle Steimer

Director of Veteran and Military Student Services

Biography

Dr. Michelle Steimer serves as core faculty in the Graduate Counseling Programs while continuing to work in private practice.

Dr. Steimer has also worked in government and agency settings. Her areas of expertise are military culture, trauma, crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and rural poverty.

Her research and work with veterans and trauma survivors have enabled her to present at state, national, and international levels. She also continues to consult for the military regarding suicide prevention.

Dr. Steimer actively engages in research and advocacy and is the current President of the Pennsylvania Military and Government Counseling Association.

She loves teaching and counseling.
