Waynesburg University strives to make higher education affordable for all students. During the 2009-2010 academic year, more than eighty percent of the students attending the University received some form of financial aid assistance.

Waynesburg University processes aid from a wide variety of sources, including federal, state and institutional programs. For the 2009-2010 school year, we have awarded over thirty-one million dollars in aid to our students. This assistance includes: academic, merit based scholarships; federal, state and institutional grants; work-study opportunities; student or parent educational loans.

Like most colleges and universities throughout the country, financial aid awards are based upon a student's and a family's demonstrated financial need. "Financial need" is determined by subtracting a student's expected family contribution (EFC) from the school's estimated cost of attendance (COA). The EFC is calculated by the Department of Education, which uses the information that the family submits annually on the federal need analysis application, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Application for financial aid, excluding merit scholarships, requires students and families to complete the FAFSA annually. The priority deadline for all new students is March 15th of each academic year. Financial aid applications received after the deadline will be processed on a rolling basis. For financial aid questions or information, please contact the Financial Aid Office at 724-852-3208 or finaid@waynesburg.edu.
